LSU announced winners at its 2017 Football Awards Ceremony on Monday night.
Running back Darrel Williams and linebacker Devin White were each recognized for significant contributions to the team this season.
They were the recipients of the Charles McClendon Award as LSU’s most valuable players. Williams won the offensive MVP, while White won the defensive MVP, respectively.
Williams was a versatile threat out of the back field, not only running the ball, but catching it, as well. He had 776 rushing yards and nine TDs to go along with 327 receiving yards.
He also was the first player in LSU history to have 100 yards rushing and receiving in the same game, according to a press release from LSU’s website.
White was a first team All-SEC selection after leading the conference with 127 tackles.
