LSU will have to wait a couple of days to get back on the baseball diamond.

Hours before first pitch, the program announced that Wednesday night’s game at Nicholls has been postponed due to inclement weather in southeast Louisiana. The Tigers and Colonels are now scheduled to play in Baton Rouge on Monday and in Thibodaux on April 8. The April game was originally scheduled to be in Baton Rouge.

LSU began the season as D1Baseball.com’s No. 3 team in the country, and maintained that ranking after a 3-0 start. The Tigers dominated Purdue Fort Wayne in a season-opening sweep. Winning the series by a combined score of 32-2, LSU hurlers logged 45 strikeouts over the first 3 games, the most for the Tigers in a series since 1992.

The Tigers improved to 4-0 on Tuesday. LSU defeated Southern 13-1 in a run-rule game that ended after 7 innings. An impressive catch by junior outfielder Chris Stanfield made the top 10 plays segment on SportsCenter.
