LSU celebrates to ‘Sandstorm’ in locker room after thrilling win at South Carolina
LSU handed South Carolina a gut-wrenching loss.
Then the Tigers really got nasty.
They trolled the Gamecocks a bit (or a lot) by celebrating in the postgame locker room to the electronic dance music song “Sandstorm,” which was done by Finnish DJ Darude around the turn of the century and has become a staple at South Carolina home games at Williams-Brice Stadium.
South Carolina football has become synonymous with the song, but on Saturday it was LSU dancing rudely to the beat after rallying in the final minutes to beat the Gamecocks, 36-33.

LSU Football simply tweeted, “Thanks for the fun, Columbia,” after the 16th-ranked Tigers stormed, you might say, into Columbia and outlasted the Gamecocks in front of a national TV audience that included the ESPN College GameDay crew.
The “Sandstorm” tradition began back in 2009 when then-No. 4 Ole Miss came to Columbia.
The Steve Spurrier-led Gamecocks led the Rebels, 16-10, with 1:39 left in the game, when the stadium DJ played “Sandstorm.”
The crowd at Williams-Brice went crazy, and a new South Carolina football tradition was born.
Naturally, the Gamecocks hung on to win that game, which just happened to be in prime time.
On Saturday, “Sandstorm” was also played after a victory at Williams-Brice.
It just wasn’t a South Carolina victory.
