LSU junior defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko has taken a long journey to get to Baton Rouge.

The Hawaii native was a 4-star recruit and the No. 8 defensive tackle in the Class of 2015, and originally signed with Texas Tech. After transferring out of Lubbock after two outstanding seasons, Fehoko had to sit out the entire 2017 season.

In Saturday’s game against Southeastern Louisiana, Fehoko was named a team captain for the pregame coin toss. Following the game, the imposing lineman took to Twitter to show his gratitude to his new home.

“What a blessing & honor it was to represent LSU football out there as a captain,” said Fehoko in the post. “I only hope and work everyday to fill the shoes of those that walked it before me.”

Fehoko made his LSU debut in the Week 1 game against Miami, and in his debut as a captain, made 6 tackles and had a sack. On the season, Fehoko has registered 8 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
