Update: LSU fan dies in the stands

UPDATE, 10/26: The Daily Reveille, LSU’s student paper, confirmed the details of the fan’s death. The deceased is a 59-year-old man named Brian Tingley, and the cause of death is tied to cardiovascular disease. He had complained of chest pains prior to suffering what was believed to be a heart attack.

According to multiple reports, a fan died in the south end zone stands of Tiger Stadium at the end of LSU’s 10-7 win over Ole Miss on Saturday.

LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette confirmed to reporters that there was a death in the stands from natural causes, and authorities were investigating. The school confirmed that the death was caused by a heart attack. The East Baton Rouge coroner’s department also confirmed the death. The deceased’s name was not released.
