LSU quarterback Joe Burrow was held of practice Friday and missed the Tigers first scrimmage of fall camp Saturday.

Ed Orgeron met with the media following the Tigers’ scrimmage, which he said backup signal caller Myles Brennan took first-team snaps.

“Minor camp injury. He was held out as a precaution. Should be back with us some time next week,” according to 247Sports Shea Dixon.

Orgeron said Brennan is much improved since last season, but it’s not the same without Burrow as the starting quarterback. Brennan finished 8-of-13 passing, according to The Athletic’s Brody Miller.

Minor camp injuries happen all the time, but when it’s the quarterback, it’s obviously more concerning. Orgeron, however, seemed upbeat that Burrow would be back next week.
