The machine that is LSU football continues to roll on.

The football program from Baton Rouge reports a slight increase in total profit from the 2015-16 fiscal period with a figure of $56.1 million in 2016-17, according to an open record request done by Ross Dellenger of The Advocate. LSU previously registered a profit of $55 million in 2015-16.

LSU’s football program reported a total revenue of $86.1 million but spent over $30 million of that figure to facilitate the program over the last year. The school’s athletic programs combined to make $147.7 million during that period but spent $131.7 million.

The only programs to turn a profit for LSU in the last fiscal year were football, men’s basketball and baseball.
