Former LSU standout Andrew Whitworth is set to be inducted in to the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.
He also joins former LSU gymnast April Burkholder on the list of inductees for the 2025 class, in addition to several other notables including pro basketball All-Stars Danny Granger and Vickie Johnson, former baseball coach Joe Scheuermann and former high school basketball coach Danny Broussard.
Whitworth saw action on the high school football field for West Monroe, helping Don Shows’ team achieve three state titles and a pair of national high school titles. The former offensive tackle was also key in keeping the Tigers stout up front, a big part of LSU achieving its first national football title in over four decades under Nick Saban back in 2003.
Withworth was a four-time Pro Bowler and played in the NFL for 16 years. He spent the majority of that time with the Cincinnati Bengals, also taking the field for the Los Angeles Rams between 2017 and 2021.
He was named 2021 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year for his work in the community in addition to his accomplishments on the field.
