LSU got another win in the transfer portal when the Tigers landed a commitment from Northwestern offensive lineman Josh Thompson on Friday.
Thompson chose LSU over Ohio State, Tennessee and others. He was a hot topic of conversation, considering that he was rated as the No. 6 interior offensive lineman currently in the transfer portal, per 247Sports rankings.
Here’s his announcement:
Looking back on his high school career before he was at Northwestern, Thompson was rated as a 3-star prospect coming out of Fenton High School in Fenton, Michigan, also named the No. 46 interior offensive lineman and the No. 20 overall prospect out of the state of Michigan for the same recruiting cycle.
Landing Thompson is just one of a number of wins that the Tigers have had lately, with LSU standout Harold Perkins also announcing that he was returning for the 2025 season as a player who will continue to be an asset for the Tigers.
LSU will be hoping to make it back to the College Football Playoff in 2025 after a disappointing 8-4 regular season under Brian Kelly this fall.
