LSU football right now is working on finding its roster and depth chart for the 2025 season, but college football teams are always having to plan for the future as well.
While the NIL and transfer portal have become a big part of college football, it is still imperative for teams to be successful in recruiting, especially in-state. On Saturday, the Tigers got big-time news when elite wide receiver and in-state target Jabari Mack decided to stay home and play for LSU.
“The best in the boot, stay in the boot,” Mack said.
This is a big-time get for Brian Kelly and his staff, as Mack was a highly sought out prospect. LSU beat out such teams as Texas, Texas A&M and defending national champion Ohio State. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he is the No. 4 prospect in the state. He is also the No. 10 wide receiver and the No. 64 player in the 2026 class.
Mack joins an already stacked 2026 class for LSU, as the Tigers currently have the No. 3 class in the country. Wide receiver has been a huge position in this class, as 4 of the 9 commits are receivers. The top player in their class is 5-star recruit Tristen Keys, who is the No. 1 receiver in the class and No. 4 overall player.
