With Les Miles’ status a question mark, recruits are having second thoughts about going to LSU.
Clifford Chattman, a safety recruit from New Orleans, has withdrawn his verbal pledge to the Tigers. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Chattman is the No. 47 safety in the nation, according to Rivals.
“I had little contact with LSU, and with all the stuff going on, I figured it was best to reopen my recruitment and look at other universities,” Chattman told nola.com.

Three other SEC schools are now in the running for Chattman.
“Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Florida are some of the schools I am considering at this stage,” he said.
Chattman is the third LSU recruit to de-commit since reports started circulating that Miles, the Tigers’ head coach, could be forced out.
Earlier this month, Feleipe Franks, the No. 3 dual threat quarterback in the country, and JaCoby Stevens, the No. 6 athlete in the Class of 2017, both de-committed from the Tigers.
With the loss of Chattman, LSU now has 17 verbal commitments.
The Tigers have commitments from two other safeties, Eric Monroe and Cam Lewis. Monroe is the No. 3 safety in the nation, while Lewis is No. 11, according to Rivals.
