LSU announced on Thursday that a couple of former Tiger playmakers were named guest captains for Saturday’s game against Army. Former defensive back Chad Jones and former tight end Foster Moreau will grace the Tigers faithful as honorary captains.
Jones was at LSU from 2007 to 2009. In three seasons, Jones recorded 157 total tackles and five interceptions. He was part of the Tigers’ BCS national championship team in 2007.
Jones also played for the Tigers’ baseball team. He was a member of LSU’s College World Series-winning squad in 2009.
In 2010, Jones was picked by the New York Giants in the third round of the NFL Draft. After a couple of years in the NFL, Jones was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the ninth round of the 2013 MLB draft.
Moreau played for the Tigers from 2015 to 2018. In four seasons, he had 52 receptions for 629 yards and 6 TDs. In the 2019 NFL Draft, Moreau was selected in the fourth round by the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Raiders until 2022, and went on to a 3-year, $12 million contract with the New Orleans Saints.
No. 19 LSU (5-2) is coming off a 48-18 victory over Auburn last weekend. The Tigers face Army at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday on the SEC Network.
