Looking to bounce back from their season-opening loss to Florida State, the LSU Tigers will be back in action on Saturday against Grambling.
This will be the home opener for the Tigers, as the game was in Orlando last weekend. It is a tradition for LSU to have honorary captains for each game, bringing back in former players to lead the way. On Thursday, LSU announced that former running back Alley Broussard and linebacker Michael Brooks will be the guest captains.

Broussard was a running back for LSU from 2003-2006, where he was a part of the 2003 national championship team. Against Ole Miss, he rushed 250 yards, setting a school record that has since been broken by Leonard Fournette in 2016 (284). He battled injuries during his time at LSU, but he finished his LSU career with 1,587 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns over his 3 seasons.
Brooks played at LSU from 1984-1987. In 1985, he was first-team All-American and first team All-SEC, and he ended up being selected No. 84 in the 1987 draft by the Denver Broncos. He played nine seasons in the NFL, playing for the Broncos (1987-1992), New York Giants (1993-1995) and the Detroit Lions (1996). He is in both the Colorado and Louisiana Hall of Fame.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be on ESPN +.
