LSU just won a key recruiting battle against several of its SEC West rivals.
The Tigers inked 4-star athlete Raydarious Jones on Wednesday, beating out main contender and home-state school Ole Miss for his services. Jones, who projects as a cornerback, made his decision on the first day of the Early Signing Period.
You can watch his announcement in the clip below, which was tweeted by ESPN recruiting analyst Gerry Hamilton.

247Sports.com’s composite ratings peg Jones as the 16th-best 2019 prospect in Mississippi and the No. 19 athlete in the country. As a native of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Jones had generated tons of interest from Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Auburn.
But he’s joining the Tigers instead, bolstering their No. 4 2019 recruiting class.
The addition of Jones not only serves as a big recruiting win in SEC circles but also further strengthens LSU’s strongest position group. With Jones coming into the fold next year, “DBU” should be alive and well.
