LSU is bringing back a familiar face to fill a role on Brian Kelly’s support staff ahead of the 2023 season.
Per Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports, a coach who previously was on LSU’s staff under Ed Orgeron is returning to Baton Rouge.
That coach is Gerald Chapman, who will be a defensive analyst in Baton Rouge during the 2023 season, per Zenitz’s report:
LSU is hiring Gerald Chatman as a defensive analyst, sources tell @on3sports.
Chatman, who previously worked at LSU under Ed Orgeron, was Colorado’s defensive line coach and interim defensive coordinator this past season.https://t.co/DlIXY6813V

Chatman was on Colorado’s staff in 2022, eventually taking over as the Buffaloes’ interim defensive coordinator. But now that Deion Sanders is taking over in Boulder, there are staff changes aplenty.
We’ll see if Chatman eventually works his way back into an on-field role during his second stint at LSU.
