LSU rounds out coaching staff with hire of former offensive coordinator, per report

LSU has re-tooled its coaching staff in recent weeks, and now the Tigers appear to have their final hire as Brian Kelly has settled on former Tulane offensive coordinator Slade Nagle.
Nagle will be the tight ends coach, according to FootballScoop. Nagle was in demand in recent weeks as the coaching carousel spun around the Bayou after he was also the quarterbacks coach at Tulane. He previously coached the tight ends for 7 years.
Nagle spent the past 8 seasons working under Willie Fritz at Tulane as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He was set to take the same role on Fritz’s Houston staff before opting to remain in his native Louisiana on Jon Sumrall’s staff at Tulane, FootballScoop reported.
This won’t be Nagle’s first time at LSU, however, as he spent the 2009 season as an administrative assistant working with LSU’s special teams. Nagle replaces Mike Denbrock, who was LSU’s offensive coordinator and tight ends coach, and left for a similar role at Notre Dame.
