Luke Fickell discusses Cincinnati’s QB situation ahead of game vs. Arkansas; Bearcats release depth chart

Cincinnati is among the teams left with a big space to fill at quarterback following the 2022 NFL Draft. In the Bearcats’ case, they are tasked with replacing Desmond Ridder, who now suits up for the Atlanta Falcons at the NFL level.
Head coach Luke Fickell says the team has already reached a decision on who its starting quarterback will be and that the team does not plan to use a rotating quarterback system, but will not make a public announcement ahead of the game, according to a report from Justin Williams of The Athletic.
There are a lot of “or” spots on the depth chart, so Fickell isn’t giving much away whatsoever at any position.

Whoever takes the reins for the season-opener, at least the first player to do so in the contest, will come down to Ben Bryant and Evan Prater. Both players have been in constant competition with each other for the starting gig and bring two very different skill sets to the table.
Cincinnati and Arkansas are set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday in Fayetteville.
