Gus Malzahn’s program received some great news on the recruiting trail on Friday as Alexandria, Va., native Malcolm Johnson Jr. announced his commitment to Auburn over finalists Alabama, Florida, Georgia and LSU.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Johnson is not only rated as a four-star on the gridiron, but he’s also listed as a track and field All-American for St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes High School.

247Sports Composite Rankings list Johnson as a four-star prospect, the No. 36 receiver in the nation and a top 200 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

Following this news, Auburn now holds commitments from 13 prospects in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Johnson is currently the fifth highest-rated prospect in Auburn’s recruiting class and the highest-rated receiver in the class.
