Malik Nabers already had a game’s worth of dominance under his belt by halftime of Saturday’s SEC opener at Mississippi State.

He started catching passes from Jayden Daniels and never stopped over the 1st 30 minutes as LSU took a 24-7 lead into the locker room.

The junior star wide receiver piled up 10 catches for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns, as he and Daniels carved up the Bulldogs secondary.

Nabers hauled in a 26-yard TD pass from Daniels with 3:38 left in the 1st quarter to give the Tigers a 10-0 lead.

It was only the beginning.

Just a few minutes later, Nabers was back at it, catching a 33-yard strike from Daniels with 14:11 left in the 2nd quarter to give LSU (1-1) a commanding 17-0 lead over undefeated Mississippi State.

The Daniels-Nabers combination was unstoppable in the 1st 30 minutes, with Daniels putting up eye-popping stats himself, going 21-of-22 passing for 255 yards and the 2 touchdown passes to Nabers.

For Nabers, the 1st-half show was a breakout of sorts, as he had only combined for 11 catches in LSU’s 1st 2 games of the season.

Nabers had a stellar 2022 season, catching 72 passes for 1,017 yards and 3 touchdowns to help LSU win the SEC West and advance to the SEC Championship Game.
