Maliq Brown is an important part of the Duke Blue Devils, especially when it comes on the defensive end of the court. He is arguably the best defensive player that Duke has in its program, as he has a ton of versatility and can guard multiple positions.

However, he was forced to leave the Blue Devils win against Virginia on Monday night with an apparent shoulder injury.

Brown had scored 2 points in 10 minutes of action, but he was forced to leave the game after deflecting a pass. He didn’t return to the game, but he returned to the bench with his arm in a sling. Duke announced Brown was ruled out at halftime.

The Blue Devils were able to carry on without Brown, as they picked up the 80-62 victory. Cooper Flagg, Isaiah Evans and Kon Knueppel all 3 led the team with 17 points.

Duke will be off until Saturday, when the Blue Devils play Illinois on Saturday. His status for that game is unknown, but if he is unable to go, that will be a loss for the team. He is averaging 4.3 RPG, which is currently 3rd on the team.
