Mark Stoops says winning in The Swamp gives Kentucky confidence facing Texas A&M’s 12th Man
If you told any SEC football fan in August that No. 13 Kentucky would be be 5-0 (3-0 SEC) going into a road game in College Station in Week 6, they would have give you a strange look. However, that is exactly what is happening after Kentucky took down Florida, Mississippi State, and South Carolina by double digits through the first five weeks.
One of those wins was a 27-16 victory over Florida in The Swamp in Week 2, and Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops was asked about whether or not that win in a hostile environment can give Kentucky an edge going into College Station.

Stoops was hesitant to call it an advantage, but acknowledged that it certainly helps for his players to know the crowd won’t get in their heads.
“I think it gives you some confidence to know that you’ve gone into an environment (that is) very similar and played well” said Stoops, “but this is a new opportunity.
“We have to go prove it again and we’ll have to play at a higher level.”
Sitting at 3-2 (1-1 SEC), a new energy has been injected into the Texas A&M fan base in Jimbo Fisher’s first season at the helm. While The Swamp is one of the toughest places to play in this conference, Kyle Field will likely be rocking on Saturday night.
The Wildcats and Aggies kick off at 7 ET on ESPN.
