Mark Stoops and Kentucky (6-3) will have their biggest challenge of the season so far when they host No. 8 Alabama this weekend.
A big question is whether Kentucky starting quarterback Devin Leary will be in the lineup after missing the fourth quarter of the 24-3 win vs. Mississippi State on Saturday with an eye injury. Sophomore backup Kaiya Sheron closed out the game for the Wildcats.
During a recent press conference, Stoops refused to reveal much on the situation, stating that he “wants to stay away” from giving any comments.

Stoops did offer that Leary can see his play calling wristband now, which was a factor for him exiting the game.

Not tipping his hat too much…

Prior to leaving the game, Leary completed 13 of his 22 passes for 156 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. For the season, Leary has passed for 1,905 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions.
Defensively, Kentucky racked up 5 sacks along with a 28-yard pick-6 from D’Eryk Jackson. Mississippi State finished just with 218 total yards.
The victory helped Kentucky reach bowl eligibility with 3 games to spare in the regular season. Alabama leads the all-time series 38-2-1 against Kentucky, with a 7-game winning streak in the matchup. Kentucky’s last win vs. Alabama was a 40-34 victory in 1997.
Alabama at Kentucky is slated for a noon EST kickoff (ESPN).
