4-star Tennessee defender Martavius French announces SEC-heavy top 5 list

Martavius French is getting closer to making his final decision.
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Whitehaven product is rated as one of the top defenders from the state of Tennessee in the 2020 recruiting cycle and announced on Monday that five programs have made his top five as his senior season nears. Of the five, four hail from the SEC: Arkansas, Florida, LSU and Mississippi State.
247Sports Composite Rankings list French as a four-star recruit, the No. 10 inside linebacker in the nation and Tennessee’s No. 12 overall prospect in the 2020 recruiting cycle. If he committed to Arkansas or Mississippi State, French would be the highest-ranked defender in either program’s 2020 recruiting board.
