Former Bama QB Taulia Tagovailoa goes off in Maryland’s record comeback win

Taulia Tagovailoa made the right decision when he transferred away from Alabama. Mac Jones is having a Heisman Trophy-type season in Tuscaloosa, and Tagovailoa would have likely still been on the bench.

However, Tagovailoa is making the most of it and absolutely went off Friday night leading Maryland to a come-from-behind 45-44 victory. The Golden Gophers led the Terrapins 38-21 entering the 4th quarter, but Maryland scored 17 unanswered points to send it into overtime where it won 45-44 on a missed extra point.

That’s the 4th biggest comeback in the Big Ten since 2004.

Tagovailoa connected on 26-of-35 passes for 394 yards, 3 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns. The quarterback threw for 394 yards and rushed for another 64 in the victory.

The Terrapins signal caller showed up to this postgame press conference in his brother’s Miami jersey, too.
