Johnson, who enters his senior season at a massive 6-foot-9, 340 pounds, is unranked by 247Sports, but that could change soon as he continues to get more attention. The Clarion-Ledger lists him as a top-40 prospect from the state of Mississippi for his class, whereas MaxPreps credits him in the top 100.
The Bulldogs are believed to be his first offer, though he has received interest from Memphis and Southern Miss.
Johnson joins two other Mississippi State ’18 commits: four-star wide receiver Malik Heath and three-star defensive end Drelan Porter.
