Matt House has a new job in the NFL, according to a report.

The former LSU defensive coordinator is expected to land with the Kansas City Chiefs as a senior defensive assistant, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz. As Zenitz notes, House previously worked with Kansas City and was a member of its Super Bowl-winning team in 2019.

House spent the 2024 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars as their linebackers coach. However, Jacksonville parted ways with its coaching staff after a disappointing 2024 campaign. Former Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Cohen was named head coach earlier this offseason and it appears he decided against retaining House on staff.

It’s now been more than a year since House was last in charge of LSU’s defense. Brian Kelly chose to part ways with House and multiple other defensive staffers after the 2023 season. Blake Baker succeeded House and is expected to make more progress on LSU’s defense as he enters Year 2 in that role in 2025.

House is a Michigan native who also previously worked at Kentucky.
