Matt Rhule rumors are swirling after the Carolina Panthers fired the embattled head coach on Monday morning.

Now, many think Rhule could be heading back to the college coaching ranks. After all, Rhule had success at both Temple and Baylor in his career before heading to the NFL.

But, per ESPN’s Greg McElroy, it might take some time before Rhule lands another college gig. McElroy tweeted that there aren’t many jobs that Rhule is interested in, and none of those jobs are likely to open this season.

In fact, McElroy went as far as to predict that Rhule would be a TV analyst during the 2023 season:

Rhule will be paid north of $40 million as his buyout in Carolina, according to various reports. That’s a ton of money, obviously, so Rhule can be selective when it comes to choosing his next gig.

We’ll see where he ends up next, even if it is with a TV network for next season.
