Former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford has been placed in concussion protocol as Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay indicated on Wednesday.

This prompts some questions as to whether not he will be available for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, which will be the first one he has missed since back in 2019 when he was with the Detroit Lions.

In the case that Stafford is to be sidelined, John Wolford next up to start in his place with Bryce Perkins to serve as the backup signal-caller.

Stafford has completed 68.4% of his passes for 1,928 yards with 8 touchdowns and 8 interceptions so far this season. The Rams and the Cardinals are set to kick off at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday in what would be another home game for Stafford if he’s able to suit up.
