In the week leading up to his team’s big game against No. 3 Ole Miss, Florida coach Jim McElwain reached out via Twitter to a young cancer patient who’s fighting a much bigger battle.

Twitter user, @hey_its_kathryn, tweeted a picture to McElwain on Tuesday of a boy holding a sign that read, “Dear Gators, I’m beating cancer. Please beat Ole Miss.”

McElwain responded by saying, “Keep fighting with everything you’ve got, buddy…We will keep fighting with everything we’ve got to win for you.”

According to one of @hey_its_kathryn’s previous tweets that included a link to a Go Fund Me Page, the little boy’s name is Jay Ryon and is currently in a battle with leukemia.
