One question for Alabama fans is where WR John Metchie III will hear his name called. He was having a breakout year for the Crimson Tide, but suffered a torn ACL in the SEC Championship Game.
During a media event on Wednesday, Kiper said Metchie probably fell a round after the injury, but still expects him to be a Day 2 pick:
Mel Kiper said he originally had WR John Metchie III as a lock for the second round but could see him slip to the third round after his ACL injury.
“I love the kid. The way he competes, what he did in clutch situations for Nick Saban.”

Metchie had 96 catches for 1,142 yards and 8 touchdowns for Alabama in 12+ games in 2021 before suffering the injury.
His availability for the 2022 NFL season remains to be seen, but it is likely he still hears his name called in the first half of next month’s draft.
