After a re-energized LSU ripped off three straight impressive wins, some chatter began about the Tigers possibly finding their way back into the national title hunt with a some of help from other teams.

On Wednesday, three members of former LSU national championship teams spoke to the current Tigers during their off week.

Quarterback Matt Flynn and defensive tackle Marlon Favorite played on the 2007 squad, while Skyler Green was a wide receiver and kick returner for the 2003 team.

It’s not the first time this season former players have talked to the team. Interim coach Ed Orgeron has made a point of getting ex-Tigers more involved with the program, from having them join the team on its game-day walk down Victory Hill to sending care packages to alums currently on NFL rosters.

No. 19 LSU is off this Saturday before hosting No. 1 Alabama on Nov. 5 in a game that will surely determine if the Tigers can maintain their sliver of hope to make the College Football Playoff.
