Miami AD pumps Hurricanes for ‘sensational’ Playoff-caliber season

Miami is 1 of the most hotly debated teams when it comes to the College Football Playoff rankings. The Hurricanes have a high-powered offense led by Cam Ward that can put up yards and points with any team in the country. They also have a defense that can give up points at an alarming rate.
They were in complete control of making the CFP up until last weekend, but blew a 21-0 lead and lost to Syracuse, 42-38. With that loss, the Hurricanes were knocked out of the ACC Championship Game. They could have automatically qualified for the CFP with a win in that game, and now can only make it as an at-large team.
Athletic director Dan Radakovich went to social media this morning to help make the case the Hurricanes deserve to be in the Playoff.
Sensational @CFBPlayoff worthy season for @CanesFootball – 10-2 and No. 1 in scoring and total offense; 11th in FPI; 7 wins vs. P4 teams and 3-0 vs. teams in top 30 of strength ranking; 6-2 record vs. bowl eligible teams – 4-2 on the road; 2 losses by combined 9 points. #GoCanes

In his tweet, he mentioned all of the accomplishments of the Hurricanes this season. They are the No. 1 team in the country in both scoring and total offense while ranking 11th in the FPI. They are also 6-2 against bowl-eligible teams, and their 2 losses to Georgia Tech and Syracuse were both on the road by 9 total points.
Tuesday night will be very telling when it comes to what the CFP committee thinks of the Hurricanes. If they are behind 1 or more of the 3 loss SEC teams, then Miami figures to be on the outside looking in.
