Michael Vick is well known to football as he starred as quarterback at Virginia Tech, as well as in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles. He has been around the game for a long time, and he may be close to adding coach to his football resume.
According to reports, Vick has interviewed with Norfolk State about potentially being the next head coach.
Previous coach Dawson Odums was let go on November 26 as the program went 15-31 during his time there.
Vick has been an NFL analyst for FOX Sports and has served as an analyst for Fox’s NFL Kickoff and Fox’s preview before the games as well. While Vick has never officially been a coach at this level, he has been making moves to become a coach for a little while.
He has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs as a training camp intern, and he was going to be the offensive coordinaor for the Atlanta Legends of the now-extinct Alliance of American Football.
During his playing days at Virginia Tech, the Hokies had a 22-2 record and made a national championship. He threw for 3,074 yards and 20 touchdowns in those 2 seasons, while also rushing for another 1,202 yards and 16 more scores.
Vick said he has been told that he expects there to be a resolution to the coaching search sooner rather than later.
