Mike Elko has landed in College Station.

Texas A&M’s new head coach touched down early Monday morning around 3 a.m. ET alongside Texas A&M athletics director Ross Bjork and a few other staff members.

Elko returns to College Station after spending two seasons as Duke’s head coach. He previously served as Texas A&M’s defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2021 under Jimbo Fisher.

During his time at Duke, Elko led the Blue Devils to 16-9 record. Last season, they won the Military Bowl against UCF. Duke finished the regular season 7-5 this season.

Elko is looking to be the coach that gets Texas A&M to the next level. The Aggies have won 10 or more games just one time since joining the SEC in 2012, and just twice since 1994.

Texas A&M finished 7-5 this season, firing Fisher after the 10th game of the season against Mississippi State. Defensive line coach Elijah Robinson served as interim head coach for the final 2 games, beating Abeline Christian but losing to LSU in the final game of the season.
