Mike Leach had a successful 10-year tenure as the head coach at Texas Tech. He then spent 8 solid seasons at Washington State. And now, after a tough 2020, he’s producing better results in his second season at Mississippi State than he had in his first.

Leach continues to rack up wins, and on Saturday, he recorded a milestone victory.

Mississippi State cruised to a 55-10 rout of Tennessee State, which marked Leach’s 150th career win. He is now 11-11 over his first 2 seasons with the Bulldogs, but they are an improved 7-4 in 2021.

Leach went 84-43 at Texas Tech and 55-47 at Washington State before coming to Mississippi State ahead of the 2020 season.

Although the Bulldogs are guaranteed to have a winning record this year, they’re going to look to have a strong finish and pick up 2 more wins. They close the regular season with their Egg Bowl matchup against Ole Miss on Thanksgiving night, and then they’ll participate in a bowl game.

So perhaps Leach can add another pair of victories to his impressive career record before 2021 is over.
