Since entering the game for Carson Wentz for the Philadelphia Eagles against the Green Bay Packers, former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts has taken that job by the reigns in the last couple of weeks.

In a game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Hurts was 24-of-44 for 338 yards and 3 touchdowns, along with 63 rush yards and a touchdown. As Hurts gets more media attention, he is taking the attitude of his former head coach, Nick Saban, in brushing it off.

On Wednesday, he dropped a “rat poison” reference during a conversation about his role:

It’s a tense situation in Philadelphia, as Hurts has taken over for the Eagles’ franchise quarterback — Carson Wentz — who has struggled mightily this season.

Despite having gone to Oklahoma for one season before being drafted, Hurts seems to have maintained a lot of the mentality Nick Saban instilled in him during his time in Tuscaloosa.
