Minkah Fitzpatrick was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, going from Alabama to the Miami Dolphins.

But, before he finished his second season in Miami, he was traded by the Dolphins to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fitzpatrick has thrived over the last 2.5 seasons in Pittsburgh.

Now, per a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Fitzpatrick has scored a long-term extension. Per Schefter, the contract extension is for 4 years and is worth $18.4 million per year, with a $36 million signing bonus:

With the deal, Fitzpatrick becomes the highest paid safety in the history of the NFL.

In 4 NFL seasons, Fitzpatrick has recorded 352 tackles, 13 interceptions (3 returned for touchdowns), 36 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles and 5 fumble recoveries.
