Mississippi State coach Vic Schaefer earns Naismith Coach of the Year award

The Mississippi State women’s basketball team has had an incredible couple of years, making it to the title game last season before losing to South Carolina.
This year, they’re back in the title game, and a talented Notre Dame team awaits, having just knocked off undefeated UConn in the Final Four.
However, the Bulldogs and coach Vic Schaefer will be eager to avenge last year’s loss and cut down the nets. Schaefer, though, already has some hardware from this season, as he was recently named the Naismith Coach of the Year:
COACH of the YEAR.

The Bulldogs are currently 37-1 this year, with their only loss coming to South Carolina in the SEC title game.
It’s been a good stretch for Schaefer, but he’d gladly trade his Naismith award for a national title on Sunday night.
