Mississippi State DL Chauncey Rivers announces he’ll return next season

Thursday night was a rough one for Mississippi State fans, as the Bulldogs lost 31-28 to Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.
But Friday brought good news.
Bulldogs defensive lineman Chauncey Rivers announced he would return next season via Twitter.
“I love the whole bulldog nation & my brothers!” he wrote. “This year has been a struggle for me to sit and watch from the sideline..but I’m back..”
Rivers, a former “Last Chance U” star, was ruled ineligible before this football season — a season in which he was projected to start at defensive end for Mississippi State.
The JUCO transfer took an academic redshirt before the season started, according to the Clarion-Ledger. Despite being cleared to enroll at MSU in January, he did not meet the criteria to play.
Luckily, he’ll have another shot next season.
Here’s what Rivers posted on Twitter Friday:
I love the whole bulldog nation & my brothers! This year has been a struggle for me to sit and watch from the sidelines..but I’m back..
