Mississippi State’s 2017 recruiting class received a boost on Saturday when news of three-star LB JJ Russell’s commitment broke:

The commitment came quickly, as Russell didn’t receive an offer from the Bulldogs until yesterday, according to his Twitter:

Russell, from Grenada, Mississippi, had also been recruited by SEC schools like Ole Miss and Missouri, according to his 247Sports page.
