Mississippi State will lose at least one offensive lineman to the transfer portal.
Reed Buys, a redshirt junior, announces his intentions to enter the portal and spend his final two years of eligibility elsewhere.
I will be entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer with 2 years of eligibility remaining. Thank you to @hailstatefb for the opportunity and memories! pic.twitter.com/YOJezE0c41

Buys, an offensive guard listed at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, transferred to Mississippi State from Jones (Miss.) Junior College. He redshirted his first year at the school in 2020 and made sporadic appearances over the next two seasons.
He attended Warren Central High School in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Because the NCAA granted players who participated in the 2020 season an extra year, Buys will have the opportunity to play a fifth and sixth year in college if he chooses.
