Missouri fans furious with officials after controversial flag pickup vs. Texas A&M

Missouri was on the wrong side of a controversial officiating decision in the first quarter of its game vs. Texas A&M on Saturday.

Facing a 4th and 2, quarterback Brady Cook thought he had Theo Wease open over the middle of the field. He threw a deep ball, but it fell incomplete after a Texas A&M defensive back appeared to keep him from making a play on the ball.

After initially throwing a flag for defensive pass interference, the on-field crew decided to pick up the flag. That decision, which was criticized on the broadcast by ESPN’s rules analyst, resulted in a turnover on downs and gave possession to the Aggies.

Texas A&M cashed in on the turnover and scored on an Amari Daniels run just a few plays later to make it 7-0.
