Missouri is conducting a quarterback competition this spring, but it appears may now be over.
According to multiple reports, Mizzou’s Drew Pyne has entered the transfer portal. He spent the 2024 season with the Tigers and previously played for Notre Dame and Arizona State. It appears he will seek another program in order to finish out his remaining eligibility.

Pyne was competing with Beau Pribula and Sam Horn for the starting job. Pribula is considered the favorite to win the role as he transferred in from Penn State earlier this offseason. Pribula backed up Drew Allar in Happy Valley, but played a significant role in the Penn State offense. He rushed for 571 yards over the past 2 seasons with the Nittany Lions. He also completed about 74% of his passes during the 2024 campaign.
Horn is entering his 4th year in the Mizzou program. A 4-star recruit back in 2022, Horn has played sparingly so far during his collegiate career. He’s attempted 8 passes so far, but none during the 2024 season as he recovered from an injury last year.
Perhaps Pyne’s best moment at Mizzou came back in November. He helped lead the Tigers to a huge comeback win over Oklahoma as Cook was sidelined with an injury.
