Report: Mizzou targeting former Oklahoma assistant to run offense

Barry Odom was named the Missouri coach on Thursday evening, and there are already reports coming out on Friday morning about who he may tab to run his offense.
According to FootballScoop.com, former Oklahoma offensive coordinator Josh Heupel may be the man to replace Josh Henson as the Tigers’ offensive play caller.

Heupel currently serves as the offensive coordinator at Utah State. He was let go by Oklahoma Bob Stoops after serving on his staff from 2006-14, with the final four seasons involving coordinator responsibilities.
Fans may remember Heupel as the runnerup for the 2000 Heisman Trophy and the quarterback that led the Sooners to an undefeated season and national championship after defeating Florida State in the Orange Bowl that season.
He’d have his work cut out for him, as Missouri featured one of the nation’s worst scoring offenses in 2015.
