The Missouri Tigers are gearing up for an SEC battle against the Oklahoma Sooners in Week 11. Entering said matchup, the Tigers are doing something special to excite the crowd for this game.

On Wednesday, the Tigers announced that this will be a black-out game. The Tigers will wear black helmets, black jerseys, and black pants. Fans are encouraged to wear black to the game.

“All black. All in,” said the post announcing the uniforms.

This will be the 2nd time the Tigers have worn all-black uniforms in 2024. The first time the team wore this combination was in Week 1 against Murray State. The Tigers won that game 51-0 to start the season.

Against Auburn in Week 9, the Tigers wore black jerseys and pants but wore yellow throwback helmets.

On the field, the Tigers are seeking to avoid picking up their 3rd SEC loss. After starting the season 4-0, the Tigers have since gone 2-2, with losses to Texas A&M and Alabama.

The Sooners, meanwhile, have had their own struggles. The team started 3-0 but is 2-4 since that point. Losses to Tennessee, Texas, South Carolina, and Ole Miss have derailed the Sooners’ first SEC season.

These teams are no strangers to each other. Missouri and Oklahoma were both previous members of the Big 12 and have played each other 96 times. The Sooners have 67 wins, the Tigers have 24, and the teams have tied 5 times.

The last time these teams met was back in 2011. Oklahoma came out on top in that matchup, winning 38-28 in Norman. The 2024 edition of this rivalry game will kick off from Memorial Stadium on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. ET.
