Mizzou’s first home weekend series of the 2023 baseball season won’t be a 3-day affair. MU announced Thursday that the schedule for the Texas Southern series has been altered due to weather.
It was supposed to be a typical Friday-Sunday series. Friday’s game, however, has been postponed. The teams will now play a Saturday doubleheader of 7-inning games and a 9-inning game on Sunday. The series is set to stream on SEC Network+.

The Tigers are off to a 6-2 start on the season with wins already over Oklahoma, Texas and TCU in the College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. MU followed that up with a trip to Miami and pick up a road series win over Florida International. Earlier this week, Mizzou won its home opener against Lindenwood 17-2 in 7 innings.
Texas Soutnern, a SWAC program, comes in with a 7-3 record after falling to Houston in midweek action. We’ll see how the teams handle an early-season double-header on Saturday if the weather cooperates.
