Mizzou and Iowa took the long way around to face off in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl, but the 2 sides are finally ready to meet in Nashville.

This year’s meeting is the exact same matchup that was supposed to be played in 2020. Unfortunately, that game was canceled 3 days before it was to be played due to issues from COVID-19.

Iowa has since won a Music City Bowl (in 2022) but the two teams have not faced off since. Overall, the two programs have faced off 13 times with Mizzou holding a 7-6 edge.

Sunday evening, the Tigers dropped their hype video for the bowl game with a beautiful narration from Howard Richards. The overarching theme is finishing strong, and there is still plenty for Eli Drinkwitz and company to play for on Monday.

At 9-3 this season, Mizzou has a chance to finish with back-to-back seasons of 10+ wins. That has not happened since 2013-14, and the program has just 2 previous occurrences of back-to-back seasons with at least 10 wins.

A win for Mizzou would also give the Tigers back-to-back bowl victories after beating Ohio State in last year’s Cotton Bowl. The Tigers last achieved that feat in 2013-14 under Gary Pinkel.

Here’s a glimpse at the hype video for Mizzou:

Mizzou currently heads toward kickoff as a 2.5-point favorite per bet365. Fans can use SDS’s best sports betting apps to get in on the action.
