Against No. 1 Georgia on Saturday, Missouri will be starting a true freshman quarterback.
Tyler Macon will get the start against the Bulldogs with Connor Bazelak sidelined, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Dave Matter. Redshirt freshman quarterback Brady Cook will also play in the game.

Multiple reports Friday night said Bazelak would miss the game Saturday against Georgia, but Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz has been coy about his quarterback situation all week. Both Macon and Cook got practice reps during the week.
Bazelak, a third-year sophomore, went 22-for-28 for 218 yards, a touchdown, and a pick in last week’s 37-28 win over Vanderbilt, but an injury forced him from the game with less than 7 minutes to play in the 4th quarter. He was replaced by Macon, who closed out the game.
On the season, Bazelak is completing 68.2% of his passes for 2,138 yards and 13 scores against 8 interceptions. Macon has thrown 4 passes (3 completions) for 69 yards with a single touchdown. Cook is 5-for-5 passing with 29 yards and a score. Macon also has 2 rushing attempts for 8 yards and a score, both of which came against the Commodores last week. He did not attempt a pass in that game.
The Tigers are in Athens for the game. Kickoff is at noon ET on ESPN.
