Mizzou starting wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. was reportedly arrested this week after failing to appear in court.
According to Adam Busack with the Missourian, Wease was arrested after failing to appear in court on Tuesday. Busack reported the additional context that Wease was charged with a failure to wear a seatbelt after being stopped in February.
The ticket related to that stop went unpaid and led to a summons in March. After Wease did not appear for his summons, a warrant was issued in May.

My understanding of this situation is that Wease was stopped in rural Missouri in February and charged with failure to wear a seatbelt. That ticket went unpaid, leading to his summons in March. He didn’t appear after the summons, and a warrant was put out for his arrest in May. https://t.co/zSBuGWUcPZ

Wease does not have a prior criminal record. While any arrest must be addressed appropriately, this appears to be a minor setback provided the reported details all pan out.
Mizzou or head coach Eli Drinkwitz have yet to issue a statement on the matter.
