Mizzou still being overlooked by AP voters, argues SEC Network analyst

Mizzou continues to impress in the SEC this season after a winless mark in conference play a season ago. In spite of the strong results on the court, the Tigers have struggled to gain much traction in the AP Poll.

Entering this weekend, Mizzou fell from No. 15 to No. 21 in the country after back-to-back losses, but SEC Network analyst Daymeon Fishback has some issues with that. For starters, those 2 losses came to top-10 teams in Tennessee and Texas A&M, and the Tigers lost those 2 games by a combined 7 points.

“Do we need to tell the AP voters to take a look at the Missouri Tigers a little bit more?” questioned Fishback after Saturday’s game. “They lose 2 games in a row to two 2-seeds. One, a 2-possession game vs. Tennessee (and) the Texas A&M Aggies, and they drop 6 spots?”

The good news for supporters of the Tigers is that they have taken advantage of a great week to bounce back. They have rattled off impressive wins over Oklahoma and Georgia to improve to 8-4 in the SEC.

Entering the primetime games, the Tigers are 3 games off the league-leading Auburn squad and 5th in the conference. That has Mizzou squarely competing for a potential double bye in the SEC Basketball Tournament, and fans can check out the best Missouri betting promos ahead of time. As for AP voters, Fishback wants them to pay attention to the Tigers..

“It’s just ridiculous to me. But Missouri continues to prove not to voters but to everyone else that they’re on a mission this year,” claimed Fishback. “They’re deep, they’re talented, they’re well-coached and they showed us once again today.”

More good news for Mizzou fans involves Tamar Bates saying after the game that the Tigers don’t really have a desire to try and prove anybody wrong. Bates understands the group has their doubters, but they are focused on “proving ourselves right” this season.
